I am extremely pleased to be helping one of my wonderful customers with her glut of figs. By some miracle of nature, and good husbandry, she has harvest over 700 figs this year from a single tree. The result is this delightful fig and pumpkin seed loaf, made using our versatile bastard dough .
The roasted figs impart a delicate flavour through the loaf, with little bursts of more intense figgyness as you stumble across little clumps of the fruit. All balanced nicely by the nuttiness of the pumpkin seeds that keep this a savoury loaf, excellent with cheese.
The size is halfway between the original little Bastard and the Big bastard.
